OculoMatrix® & VisiDisc® membrane allografts are carefully processed from human tissues. Complete BioECM® preserved by the HydraTek® process provides the ideal age-zero tissue implant the human body needs. OculoMatrix® and VisiDisc® amniotic membrane allografts available in a thin, amnion-only, and a thick, chorion-based configuration for improved handling and optimal coverage.
HydraTek® BioAware® Technology is designed to protect the biomechanical structure of the membrane tissue matrix versus other membranes which may be cross-linked or collapsed due to their inferior processing methods. This produces membrane products that provide an immediate covering at the site and adhere like no other.
HydraTek® has designed the unique BioAware® preservation system to optimize the structural tissue integrity, handling and performance of its membrane-based allografts. This system scientifically controls the moisture levels in both dehydrated and non-dehydrated membrane products, and carefully preserves the natural tissue structure without compromising it through traditional lyophilization (freeze drying), heat-baking, chemical cross-linking or other disadvantageous methods.
The result is a lineup of membrane products that maintain ideal structure and integrity when used dry or hydrated. These products are omni-directional, meaning they can be applied up or down, without orientation issues. The dehydrated membranes adhere extremely well naturally, but are also strong enough to allow for suture fixation as needed. In addition, a non-dehydrated option is available, with load-bearing strength and added thickness for additional support.
Placental tissues have been used medically for decades and one reason they are an excellent transplant is they are an immunoprivileged tissue type. They have been shown to not cause a host rejection.
OculoMatrix® & VisiDisc® Thin are thinner grafts, derived from amnion membrane, providing a versatile graft for most applications. They have a nominal thickness of 45 microns.
OculoMatrix® & VisiDisc® Thick are chorion-based grafts, providing alternative handling characteristics and improved visibility for minimally invasive and other applications. They have a nominal thickness of 200 microns.
OculoMatrix® & VisiDisc® are scientifically dehydrated for optimal structural integrity and handling. This allows the grafts to be applied dry, or pre-moistened for easy application into tight areas.
OculoMatrix® & VisiDisc® adhere naturally to the patient’s tissues. If necessary, light fixation or a bandage covering may be utilized to keep the grafts in place.
OculoMatrix® & VisiDisc® can be applied in either direction, with no orientation restrictions.
OculoMatrix® & VisiDisc® are provided sterile in a dual peel-pouch, and may be introduced to the sterile field.
OculoMatrix® & VisiDisc® are stored at ambient temperature (50-86°F/10-30°C) until ready for use. Product has a 5 year shelf life.
